Survivor to Thriver – how it works
Survivor to Thriver is a five-week, one-to-one journey for survivors of sexual abuse, rape and domestic violence, who are ready to leave the past behind them and start showing up in their lives with more courage, confidence and self-belief that they ever imagined possible.
Because when you release yourself from the past, all that energy that you’ve been using to keep your feelings down, your memories at bay and just cope with life, will be freed up and provide you with the desire and motivation to start creating change.
So rather than wish you could stay in bed all day, you’ll want to take action to move your life forward.
Rather than avoid social situations or cry-off dates, you’ll feel hope and excitement at new opportunities – and possibilities.
And rather than accepting whatever jobs and wages have been given to you, you’ll start to stand up for your worth (and it’s far more than you think it is, but we’ll work on that).
At the end of our time working together you will feel lighter, able to look at your abuse from a place of detachment and actually see the strengths that formed from within it.
No one chooses abuse.
It is NOT your fault
…but you can choose to look back at it from a place of empowerment, rather than victimhood.
And when you can do that, it no longer has any control over you.
Together, we can get you to that place.
HOW IT WORKS AND WHAT WE’LL COVER
Before we start our sessions, you will fill out a questionnaire that will help us begin our work on how you see yourself right now, how you would like to be in the future, and explore some of the triggers that keep you stuck. This pre-work will ensure we get off to a quick-fire start and I can begin to think about the tools and techniques that might help you the most.
Five Skype sessions
(or in person if you want to come to my home in Barnsley near Sheffield, South Yorkshire).
Session one: You are more than you think you are.
We will start our work together by helping you to get in touch with your true magnificence, so that you can feel it in your body – and that knowing will motivate you forward.
Session two: Moving on from just surviving
We’ll explore behaviours, thoughts and lifestyle patterns that keep you stuck in the past, because once you become aware of these, it’s a huge step toward choosing to do things differently and acting in ways that serve you rather than sabotage you.
Session three: Toward thriving
What do you want out of life? Starting from there, we will work backwards and put in place thoughts and beliefs that will help you to take back your power and start showing up in your life with more confidence and self-belief.
Session four: Magnificent Mindfulness
I’ll teach you breathing and relaxation techniques that you can rely on to help you through those wobbly moments that are bound to crop up as you learn to live another way, so that you don’t fall back on destructive patterns of behaviour.
Session five: From survival to arrival
We’ll take a look back at our work together, pull out the tools and techniques that worked best, and make a plan to support your thriving going forward.
From personal experience, I know that delving into your abuse story can be scary and painful, but when you come out the other side, you will feel empowered. And I want that for you. So to make sure you have all the support you need during our journey together, I offer email access to me as well so that if something uncomfortable comes up between sessions, I am there to guide you through.
So if you’re fed up living a crap life, are ready to dump the shackles of your abuse and you want to do that with someone who knows exactly how you’re feeling, what you’re thinking and where you’ve come from…
Then this is the programme for you.
Ready to stop letting the past steal the possibility of a magnificent future?
Then book in here for a 30-min consultation so that together we can decide if this is the next best step for you.

“I was anxious about working with Maggie as I have been to counselling, psychotherapy and CBT and I have spent loads of money and hours trying to get my act together in the past…”
At first I thought it was a lot of money to pay out again, but then I thought I was so fed up I couldn’t afford to waste any more time making stupid decisions, getting into relationships that were no good for me. My life was just going round and round in circles.
I was confused, exhausted and overwhelmed trying to figure things out on my own. Maggie helped me to clear away the confusion and helped me to focus on what I wanted rather than on what I didn’t want. She assisted me in processing through my indecisions and fears that kept me confused and stuck in the past.
I am able to breathe into the problem release my anxieties around it and then it feels less pressurised. Because of the pressure I put on myself in the past I couldn’t think straight and made poor decisions. Working with Maggie has given me purpose.
She instilled in me a sense of pride in myself and to take responsibility for taking care of myself and in standing up for what I want. In fact, in the past week I have moved to a new job, I ended a relationship that was draining for me and I finally feel free.
I can’t thank Maggie enough, and if you are looking for help and support with stuff, go for it, you won’t regret it.

“Maggie really can help, so I would have no hesitation in recommending you contact her.”
As a child I was told constantly that I was useless, lazy and my mother would constantly criticise me saying she wished I had never been born. She would tell me I was horrible, ugly and nobody would love me or want me ever.
I contacted Maggie and she was so kind and listened to my story and was extremely supportive whenever I had a wobbly moment. I still have them but they are less frequent. She encouraged me to begin believing in myself and my abilities and to start slowly telling myself how beautiful, powerful and magnificent I am. It was a bit strange at first but I kept saying it to myself every day or especially when I was thinking negatively – it works.
That was one thing she taught me but there is loads more things she does. She has a magic bag of tricks, it’s bril/iant.Now I fee/loved and very proud of myself and I am in a relationship with my partner who loves me without question and she shows it every day, in the things she does and says.
I have so many friends who care about me and I feel wonderful. It has been hard work getting from where I was to where I am today but it’s so worth it. Maggie really can help, so I would have no hesitation in recommending you contact her if you need help in any way.
